With the plants produced, ProAves will carry out ecological restoration activities at the Yellow-eared Parrot Nature Reserve, both in cushioning and forage areas of this bird as part of its reforestation programme.

Luis Felipe Barrera, ProAves Sub-Director of Protected Areas – Central Regional said: “With the signature of this agreement, we are demonstrating that it is perfectly possible to integrate a private initiative with a municipal initiative, pro conservation of the yellow eared parrot habitat”, who also indicated that this agreement is being fully and successfully applied.

Moreover, Corantioquia donated 2,000 Quindío Wax Palm trees (Ceroxylon quindiuense) to be sprinkle at the Yellow-eared parrot Reserve and in other ecological sites established by the Foundation in cooperation with the community.
