All researchers who wish to take part in scientific activities within the framework of a research project are invited to contact the ProAves with the goal of completing an agreement for the loan of band/rings and equipment.
Bird banding is a technique that provides information about the physical condition, molt patterns, movements and migration, birth and death rates and survival of banded birds and the populations to which they belong.

For bird banding, special training is required to ensure above all the welfare of the birds and the quality of information that is collected. Since 2001 ProAves has supported, with the loan of their equipment, people of different public and private institutions, there by promoting knowledge of the birds of Colombia.

The requirements for the implementation of the agreement are:
· Presentation of a research project (max. 1 page).
· To have experience as bander.
· Research permit or a copy of home-based process granted by the Ministry.
In the case of no availability of rings or equipment priority will be given to investigations within the reserves of the Foundation.
