In this place, about 360 species of birds have been registered, of which 7 are endemic species, 8 are almost endemic and 8 are threatened; 43 species of non-flying mammals of which 18 are threatened, 24 species of flying mammals; 32 species of amphibians where there is 1 threatened species and 46 species of reptiles. Likewise, the following stand out: the Yellow-headed Parakeet (Gypopsitta pyrilia), Bonito Woodpecker (Melanerpes pulcher), Capiblanco Bull (Capito hypoleucus), Antioqueño Tyrannosaurus (Phylloscartes lanyoni), Ash Habia (Habia gutturalis), Turqueza Honeysuckle (Dacnis hartlaubi Magdalena), (Ateles hybridus), the Andean Bear (Tremarctos ornatus) and Magdalena Otter (Pteronura longicauda), among others.

Location

This protected area is located in the Serranía de las Quinchas, between the municipalities of Puerto Boyacá, Bolívar and Cimitarra, more precisely in the departments of Boyacá and Santander (See map).
