One of our camera traps in the ProAves Reinita Cielo Azul Reserve, in the department of Santander, recorded this beautiful moment of the Andean Bear (𝑇𝑟𝑒𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑐𝑡𝑜𝑠 𝑜𝑟𝑛𝑎𝑡𝑢𝑠𝑠).
This charismatic bear is the only one in South America, inhabits Andean forest ecosystems and is known as the guardian of the moors and water.
🌱 Strengthening those who protect our forests is an essential part of our mission.
During the Ranger Planning Week, our team experienced a week of learning, hands-on practice, and connection with nature, enriching their skills for conservation across all our Nature Reserves in Colombia. 🇨🇴🦜💚

The Conservation Chiva continues traveling through rural areas across the country, bringing more children and young people closer to the knowledge and protection of biodiversity. 🚌🌿
Magnolias are much more than trees 🌿 They are history, biodiversity, and life for our forests. In this reel, Miguel Ángel Gómez, researcher of the Magnolia Project, tells us why these species are so important for nature… and the meaning behind their name: Alma Negra. 🌳 A name that carries memory, resilience, and the urgency to protect what we still have left. 💚 Conserving them means caring for the heart of our forests.
Thanks to the support of Fondation Franklinia.
20 years protecting life in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. 🌿
For two decades, the ProAves El Dorado Reserve has been a place of conservation, science, and commitment, where hundreds of species have found a space to continue existing.
Today, we celebrate not only the passage of time, but everything that has been possible to protect.🦜💚🐸🐒
