ProAves proudly presents the no. 9 edition of its Colombian conservation journal, publishing an abstract of the results from the study Indicators and Models to evaluate biodiversity changes in the CDM forestry project in the Chinchiná river basin, elaborated by ProAves together with several institutions nearby the basin in the municipality of Caldas, Colombia.
The CDM forestry project (CDM stands for Clean Development Mechanisms) has been advanced by forestry producers associated to Procuenca,Two phases of this study, study field and analysis, has been carried out by ProAves between 2006 and 2007, with the valuable support of Centro Andino para la Economía del Medio Ambiente (CAEMA), the Fundación Ecológica Cafetera, Conservación Internacional (CI) and Corpocaldas, among others.
This research offers a simple and novel way to incorporate biological indicator analysis about productive systems, alongside the evaluation of the impact on altered or natural systems.
