ProAves researchers installed infrared video cameras inside the nests of the Yellow-eared Parrot and Fuertes’s Parrot that has shown the first images of nesting behavior of these species. The videos have shed new light on the behavior of young and the parents, thanks to support from Fundación Loro Parque.
With continued recording of nest activities and analysis, results of this work hope to strengthen conservation efforts, such as next box designs and also identify threats facing individuals of both species during this critical stage.
