ProAves recieves a prestigious conservation award from Partners in Flight  (PIF) for its outstanding contributions to bird conservation in the America’s.

PIF is a cooperative effort involving partnerships among federal, state and local government agencies, philanthropic foundations, professional organizations, conservation groups, industry, the academic community, and private individuals.

Each year, PIF presents awards to those individuals, groups or organizations that have made exceptional contributions to the field of landbird conservation. This year, Fundacion ProAves has been recognized for its bird conservation. ProAves has demonstrated outstanding actions to help resident and migratory birds in Colombia and across Latin America that contributes to advancing PIF conservation efforts.

This prestigious Award was presented to ProAves Executive Director, Sara Ines Lara at the Final Banquet of the 4th International PIF Conference “Tundra to Tropics: Connecting Birds, Habitats and People” in McAllen, Texas on the 16 February 2008 in front of over 300 bird conservationists from the America’s.
