Lepidopyga lilliae is a species of which little is known except for some records in the departments of Atlántico, Guajira and Magdalena, which has been observed within the mature mangrove forests, xeric vegetation and riparian forests adjacent to these (Renjifo et al. 2002) and in areas of fruit crops (Fiorenzano Ayala 2003), although most of these records have been inside the mature mangrove forests, it is unknown to what extent the species is dependent on this habitat (M. Parra Agudelo 2002), in addition to the above, it is unknown the current size of their populations, which are believed to have declined since the mid 70’s due to habitat destruction ( Renjifo et al. 2002).
