Earth Day and Year of Biodiversity, a commitment of ProAves
Framed within 2010 Year of Biodiversity, the Foundation ProAves and its entire staff celebrated on April 22nd the Earth Day, the celebration included a special program in Roncesvalles, Tolima, Jardín, Antioquia, Genova, Quindio and Bogotá.
Within these activities we had workshops and conferences, sessions of “Cinema in the Park”, painting contests and poetry alluding to the celebration, games and activities for people seeking to know and value the importance of conservation and take immediate action in preserving natural resources.

Always with the participation of environmental groups, young researchers, bird-friendly schools and the community at large, we made an invitation to the entire community to link with the Foundation, especially children and young people.
In Bogotá, the school Eduardo Umaña Mendoza (in the locality of Usme), was visited, leading educational and leisure activities through which children came to a knowledge of the Earth and its biodiversity.
