12 July, 2011

Español

The meeting provided a forum for good clean fun creating identity and consciousness for the conservation of natural resources. As part of the holiday different recreational activities were carried out to publicize the threat categories of Rusty-faced Parrot (Hapalopsittaca amazonina), which, according to the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) is Endangered (EN).

These activities created in the children and young people of the town, a sense of belonging and regional identity around the recognition of this endangered species and the specific characteristics of its ecosystem.

During the activities environmental workshops were also held with chicks from the Hogar Infantil La Isla, a radio program with Friends of the Birds girls and the Youth Social Service involving an average of 98 children per day.
