The Board of Directors of the ProAves Foundation is composed of four distinguished professionals with deep expertise in conservation, biodiversity, and environmental communication. Each member brings a unique perspective and decades of experience to advance the Foundation’s mission.

Pablo Flórez​

Forestry Engineer & Birding Guide

Pablo is a founding member of ProAves and played a pivotal role in early conservation efforts for the Yellow-eared Parrot (Ognorhynchus icterotis) in Jardín, Antioquia, in 2002. He is a respected birding and nature guide and the founder of “Multicolored Birding Tours”, one of Colombia’s oldest and most reputable birdwatching companies.

Juan Carlos Luna

Expert Ornithologist & Conservationist

Juan Carlos, also a founding member of ProAves, brings over 25 years of field experience in ornithology and hands-on bird conservation. A dedicated birding guide, he is the founder of Birding Colombia, a company committed to promoting avitourism and bird habitat protection across the country.

Rowens Cristancho​​

Biologist, Science Communicator & Speaker

Rowens is a biologist with a specialisation in change management and a background in ecotourism, biodiversity conservation, and food security. He is a recognised speaker on adaptability, soft skills, and customer experience. Rowens also creates educational content on his popular YouTube channel Terrícolaz, where he inspires environmental awareness and science literacy.

Blanca Sánchez

Journalist & Media Consultant

Blanca is a seasoned Colombian journalist and recipient of the prestigious Alfonso López Michelsen National Journalism Award. With extensive experience in media, she has worked as news director and anchor for Telecaribe and served as a correspondent for Noticias RCN, covering the Presidency of the Republic. Blanca now consults in strategic communications, media relations, and public outreach.
