The Blue-billed Curassow (Crax alberti) is an endemic species of central and northern Colombia, celebrated for its striking appearance and vital ecological and cultural role. Yet today, it balances on the edge of extinction with fewer than 2,500 left in the wild.

At Fundación ProAves, we are working tirelessly to safeguard the Blue-billed Curassow through the El Paujil Nature Reserve in the Serranía de las Quinchas, one of its last strongholds.
