The Natural Reserve is located in the municipality of Zapatoca, 60 km from Bucaramanga,
department of Santander, via Chocoa-Girón. It includes an altitude range between 310 and 1,410
m.s.n.m. This conservation area has well-preserved forest fragments despite the
overgrazing of goats.
The Natural Reserve is located on the Sogamoso River basin, and very close to the confluence of the rivers.
Suárez and Chicamocha, who form it. The soils are dry, rocky, of low fertility and highly
