2024 marked significant achievements in our mission of conservation, environmental education, and research. Through collaborative efforts, we protected the most threatened wildlife, preserved their habitats, and promoted initiatives for biodiversity conservation.
This report provides a detailed overview of the conservation actions carried out in Colombia, including the designation of two ProAves Reserves as Regional Natural Parks, the protection of endangered ecosystems, the strengthening of our scientific projects, and our participation in COP16. Additionally, we highlight the positive impact on communities through our environmental education strategies.
All of this has been possible thanks to the integration of multiple processes in key areas such as conservation, research, environmental education, communication, sustainability, as well as in legal, financial, and administrative matters.

We present our Impact Report 2023, in which we share the results of a year filled with challenges, opportunities, experiences, and significant learnings in our work to conserve 12% of the world’s birds and 67% of Colombia’s birds. This journey has been undertaken hand in hand with our park rangers, our team, the communities, partner institutions, and donors, all of whom have been integral to our efforts to preserve biodiversity.
2011 was a year of many achievements in favor of conservation; began with extraordinary news: the rediscovery of the Bull of Santa Marta, after 113 years of being missing, which was observed in the El Dorado Bird Nature Reserve, a Reserve that in this same year we managed to expand and thus expand the range for the protection of this species.

ProAves has published its 2008 Annual Report, summarizing its main achievements during 2008 and its first decade of work, including the establishment of 15 Bird Reserves, protection of threatened birds in Colombia and a significant contribution to the recovery of many species, such as the Yellow-eared Parrot.
In Protecting critical habitat section, ProAves shows how, among other great achievements, owing and protecting 42,575 acres of montane, paramo, subtropical, tropical rainforest and dry forest, and mangrove and coastal zone, together with other conservation activities, ProAves is helping to protect 78% of threatened bird species in Colombia.
Sections include: Saving endangered species, with aspects such as the artificial nests program has successful fledged 239 individuals of threatened parrots; Science for conservation highlights the discovery of 3 bird species for science, and Conserving with the community displays actions such as 74 Bird Friendly Schools. Finally, Institutional strengthening, presents several factors that have helped ProAves develop in 2008.

ProAves se complace en presentar su Informe Anual 2006, el cual reúne los logros más importantes de la Fundación el año pasado en sus tres áreas de trabajo: Conservación, Investigación y Educación Ambiental.
Entre las principales realizaciones en ese periodo están el establecimiento de cinco nuevas reservas naturales, la producción del café amigable con las aves Reinita Cerúlea, la descripción de la subespecie Gorrión Montes de los Yarigüíes (Atlapetes latinuchus yariguierum) y la sensibilización directa de 72.000 personas por medio de actividades de educación ambiental.
